We’re excited to be invited to participate in the grand opening of Omaha’s new Central Library! As part of the celebration, we will be hosting a Dragon Boat Festival cultural program.

As the new Central Library opens, it brings together the diverse communities that shape our city. Through music, dance, and cultural traditions, we’ll celebrate this exciting new chapter together.

       📅  Date: May 16, 2026 on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
       📍  Location: New Central Library at 7205 Dodge St, Omaha NE 68114

             · Traditional Chinese music: Guzheng and Hulusi performances             

             · Storytelling: The legend of the Dragon Boat Festival
             · Chinese School Dragon Boat–themed art exhibition
             · Sugar painting (traditional Chinese folk art)
             · Chinese chess & traditional puzzles
             · DIY five-color bracelets (a Dragon Boat Festival tradition)
             · Dragon boat craft activity
             · Tai Chi demonstration

 

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience Chinese culture and celebrate together as a community. It’s also very family-friendly—feel free to bring your kids and friends!
